Unfired Life Resource
Faith & Meaning
Faith does not require pretending the crack is not there.
Overview
Unfired Life leaves room for lament, confession, silence, hope, and the slow work of becoming honest before God. Faith is not denial. Faith is bringing the real thing into the presence of God.
Lament
Lament is faithful grief. It brings pain into the presence of God instead of hiding it, explaining it away, or dressing it up as something more acceptable.
Confession
Confession is not self-hatred. It is agreement with truth so grace can reach the real wound. It says, “This is mine to face,” without pretending that facing it saves you by itself.
Surrender
Surrender releases the illusion of control while still taking responsibility for the next faithful step. It is not passivity. It is trust with open hands.
Scripture
- Psalm 51 — confession and renewal
- Psalm 34:18 — nearness to the brokenhearted
- Isaiah 61 — beauty for ashes
- Romans 5:3–5 — suffering, patience, experience, hope
